A heartbroken mum is urging other parents to up the vaccine pressure on their children after her two sons died of Covid within 12 hours of each other.
Lisa Brandon, of Jacksonville, US, says she felt totally helpless as her children died after contracting the deadly bug.
She says she desperately regrets not pushing her sons Aaron, 35, and Free 41, to get their jabs while she had the chance.
They became infected with the virus in late July and their conditions rapidly deteriorated earlier this month.
Both her sons died within half a day of each other, leaving their family totally devastated
The Florida mum has told others to get their vaccines before it’s “too late” as a fundraiser was launched to help with funeral costs.
She told news station WJAX-TV that acting now can save others from going through a similar ordeal.
“I think they would be alive today if they would have got their shot,” she said.
“I wish I could have made them do it. And now it’s too late,”
“It’s a parent’s worst nightmare. The only reason I’m doing this appeal is to put the word out to please get vaccinated.”
Both sons were on ventilators and Free was placed in a medically induced coma earlier
According to Johns Hopkins University, the US has now declared more than 37.7 million cases.
The country’s death toll is now over 630,000.
Since the mens’ deaths, friends and family have tried to offer support set up an online fundraising page to raise money for their funerals.
The post read: “I hope this story reaches you and inspires you to not only help, but to pray for her during this terrible time in her life. Any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.”
The fundraiser has reach almost $20,000, with an overall $30,000 goal.
The devastated mum is now moving out of her home where she divided the rent with her two sons.
